Unprecedented amount of donations to the French Red Cross

Through the “Restaurons la solidarité” (Nurturing solidarity) campaign undertaken by the French Red Cross and Edenred, a total €533,000 has been collected, an increase of 225% compared with 2015.

Every euro donated to the Red Cross helps finance the association's actions in favor of balanced and healthy nutrition for its beneficiaries.

Donation figures:

o    1 euro donated = 1 full meal distributed to someone in a vulnerable situation
o    €533,000 collected in the first half of 2016
o    42% of Ticket Restaurant® donations were made via the card
o    Average Ticket Restaurant® card donation: €50 per employee
o    Almost €3 million collected since 2002

Thanks to the money collected, many local Red Cross units will be able to purchase important equipment such as refrigerated trucks and refrigerators to collect and store fresh products, or equip social grocery stores.

Donations of up to €19 per day can be made all year round with the Ticket Restaurant® card; visit ticketrestaurant.fr.

Paper vouchers can also be sent in an unstamped envelope to the following address: Opération Croix-Rouge – Libre réponse n°13935 – 92249 Malakoff Cedex.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the holders of our Ticket Restaurant® solution for their generosity. Thanks to their solidarity, a record amount of donations has been collected for the benefit of the French Red Cross. The combined simplicity and security of online donations with the Ticket Restaurant® card account for approximately half of the total amount collected” said Julien Tanguy, Managing Director, Edenred France.

The ‘Restaurons la solidarité’ campaign is highly important for our association. It plays a major role in financing our food aid actions, and enables us to better respond to the ever increasing number of people in need welcomed every day by our volunteers in local units throughout France. This year, we have seen an unprecedented show of generosity, and we would like to warmly thank all those who made a donation for their involvement” said Annie Burlot-Bourdil, General Manager of the French Red Cross.

The collaboration between Edenred France and the French Red Cross is part of Ideal care, the solidarity component of Edenred’s corporate social responsibility program.
