The trip was designed to familiarize these youngsters with the world of work and give them a chance to enjoy the ocean and discover a new sport: sailing.
The weekend’s program included relaxed meetings with professionals from a variety of sectors and a tour of Nautic Sport, the company managed by Emmanuel Le Roch, the skipper of the Edenred sailboat. This was followed by an outing to the Île de Houat on the Class40, accompanied by Emmanuel Le Roch and Basile Bourgnon, to take advantage of the fine weather and enjoy various sailing activities.
In the words of Victor Genin, Edenred CSR Director: “This event gives youngsters from deprived districts of the Paris suburbs taking part in the ‘Sport dans la Ville’ program the chance to discover the world of sailing. It was the first time they had set foot on a sailboat and, for some of them, the first time they had even seen the sea. The initiative follows on from Emmanuel’s visit to Sarcelles in April and mirrors the introduction to sailing program currently being developed by Edenred Brazil with youngsters from Salvador de Bahia.”
