Ticket Restaurant® brings Apple Pay to its customers

Ticket Restaurant® users will now be able to pay for their meals directly with their iPhone or Apple Watch at all restaurants equipped with a contactless payment terminal.
Edenred Spain becomes the second Edenred group country to offer its customers this payment method after first launching in France in June 2016.

Edenred, the company that created the Ticket Restaurant® and the leading Spanish provider of vouchers and prepaid cards, is the first food voucher company in Spain to offer Apple Pay.

Security and privacy are the main characteristics of Apple Pay. When you use Ticket Restaurant® with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.

How do I use Ticket Restaurant with Apple Pay?

Adding Ticket Restaurant to Apple Pay is really simple. Users open the Wallet application on their iPhone, select “add card” and manually enter their card details and the 3-digit security code on the back of the card. They will immediately receive an email with a verification code they then enter in the application to complete the process.

To add a card to Apple Watch, users can complete the same process in the Watch app on their iPhone. In just a few minutes users can start paying for their daily meals at restaurants with their Ticket Restaurant® card via Apple Pay.

More than 90.000 users in Spain currently use the Ticket Restaurant card each day to pay for their meals at restaurants.

Apple Pay is the latest technological development Ticket Restaurant® has brought to its users, following its exclusive app for checking their balance and movements, and the ability to cancel the card online in just a few minutes in the case of loss or theft.
