Edenred France launches the recycling of its Ticket Restaurant® card

Thanks to its partnership with a startup specialized in the industrial reuse of electronic cards, Edenred has become the only issuer to offer the recycling of its cards.

Our commitments

3 years is the lifespan of a card. More than 140,000 employees currently benefit from a Ticket Restaurant card in France

When their Ticket Restaurant card expires, employees receive a new one accompanied by modalities to send back their old card for recycling. The old cards are crushed by a startup called Bigarren Bizi in an entirely mechanized process. The resulting materials (98.4% plastic and 1.6% metals) can then be used to make new products.

More than 140,000 employees currently benefit from a Ticket Restaurant card in France. Today, Edenred is the only issuer to propose the recycling of its cards and the company plans to gradually extend this initiative to include all of its digital products.

"With the shift to digital of our solutions, the consumption of plastic has become a major issue, including for our corporate clients. As the first issuer of meal vouchers with an entirely FSC-certified paper production line, we now intend to become a pioneer in the recycling of cards"
Laurent Delmas,
Managing Director of Edenred France
