Contributing to the integration of young people in difficulty in Brazil

Initiated by Embratec and followed through by Ticket Log* in Brazil, the Pescar project provides support for young people aged 16 to 19 in difficult situations. How does it work? A vocational training course with classes provided every day.

Behind the Pescar project, a businessman: Geraldo Linck. In 1976 he witnessed a young man mug an elderly person. Shocked by this violent act and the agility and strength of the thief compared with the frailty of the victim, he took action to put an end to this situation and help disadvantaged youngsters. He created the Pescar project, which promotes personal development, a sense of citizenship and vocational training for these young vulnerable people, through partnerships with companies and organizations. Since 1976, 25,621 socially vulnerable high school students have been trained in Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Angola.

Initiated by Embratec and followed through by Ticket Log, this year the project is training 18 volunteers every day, providing classes in the company from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A minimum of 900 hours devoted to two main areas:

  •  Personal development and citizenship;
  •  Technical and vocational development.

During the second semester of the year, these young people will experiment with a cycle of several functions in the company.

Beyond the social aspect, Ticket Log's aim is to identify young talents and retain them in the company.
